Mike Loomis never. started out to be a racecar driver. He was just a man who liked to go fast. With the help of a small racetrack called Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, North Carolina, he has fulfilled dreams he never knew he had, and now he is helping his son make his racing dreams a reality. Meet Mike Loomis, our driver of the week.

1) How did you get started in racing and what series or tracks do you race on regularly?
I got started. Racing in 08 because. My friend Robert had a truck we used to take mudding and I told him I wanted to race so we traded it for a 95 Honda civic race car 03  and my local track is Caraway Speedway in NC  I race the 4 cylinders ucar class.

2) Tell me a little about your car number and how you chose it?
My car number used to be 03 and I changed it to 3 because I always been a Sr fan.

3)  Who sponsors you and why are they special to you?
I have none at this time I do it all out of my pocket.

4) Who has been your biggest support throughout your career?
My kids ,wife ,and my mom who is dying...

5) Is there a famous race car driver you like to compare yourself to? Who and why?
Jeff Gordon. Because that's what everyone always told me I remind them of Jeff on track. I don't know why.

7) What advice would you give a young kid wanting to be a race car driver?
If you want to race you have to always follow your dreams no matter what Anyone says about it. Always remember where you come from and where you started at.

8)  If you weren't driving a race car, what do you think you would be doing with your life?
Honestly, I don't even know anymore.

9) What is your biggest moment in your racing career?
Winning my first ever championship at. Caraway Speedway in NC and flipping my car 3 times at Caraway Speedway in 2014

10) Where do you see yourself in 10 years and what will it take to get there?
 In ten years I believe I will be helping my son Michael with his cars and spotting for him while he is getting wins.
